Forty Letters

Terms

Last updated October 30, 2026. We're still having these reviewed, so they may change. A change never applies to a sprint you've already paid for.

These are the terms for buying an interview sprint from Forty Letters ("we", "us"). We kept them short and plain. If something's unclear, email [email protected] and ask.

What you're buying

One interview sprint, paid once. It includes:

There's no subscription and nothing renews. The price is the one shown on the payment link we send you.

How it works and how long it takes

You fill out the intake form. We reply within one business day. If we don't think we can help, we tell you and you don't pay. If we do, we email you a payment link.

Within 2 business days of payment, we send you your list of 100 jobs. You can cross off any you don't want and we replace them within one business day. Once you approve the list, we submit the applications over about a week, at most 30 a day, and send you your 40 emails with the first batch. A business day is Monday to Friday, not counting US federal holidays.

By approving your list, you authorize us to submit those applications in your name, using the details from your intake. We only apply on companies' own public careers pages. If a form asks something we can't answer truthfully from what you gave us, needs an account, or shows a CAPTCHA, we skip it and pick another job.

What we don't do

The guarantee

If you don't get a qualifying first-round interview within 30 days, we refund the full price you paid.

A qualifying interview is a live phone call, video call or in-person meeting about a job, with someone employed by one of the companies we applied to or emailed for you. A screening call with that company's own recruiter counts. Take-home tests, skills assessments, recorded one-way video, automated or chatbot screeners, and calls with outside or agency recruiters don't count. Interviews at other companies don't count.

The 30 days start on the day your last application goes in. If we finish late, the 30 days still start on the day we actually finish.

What you have to do for the guarantee to apply:

If you decide not to contact a company, ask us to swap it before you send.

To claim, email us from the address you signed up with, within 15 days after your 30 days end. Say you didn't get a qualifying interview and tell us which companies wrote back, if any. We refund the full price to your original payment method within 5 business days of your email. Your bank may take a few more days to show it. One guarantee refund per person.

If we think a claim doesn't meet these terms, we'll tell you why in writing and point to the exact line. We won't add conditions that aren't written here.

Other refunds

Please email us before disputing a charge with your bank. We'll sort it out faster.

Your part

Who owns what

Once you've paid, the drafts we write for you are yours to use however you like. We keep the right to use what we learn from sprints, like reply rates and which kinds of emails work, in a form that doesn't identify you or anyone you contacted.

Limits

We do careful work, but we can't control whether companies are hiring, who replies, or how an interview goes. Our total responsibility to you for a sprint is capped at the price you paid for it. We aren't responsible for indirect losses, like income from a job you didn't get. Some places don't allow these limits, and where that's true they don't apply to you.

Ending things

We can decline to take on a sprint for any reason before you pay. If we stop a sprint after you've paid, for any reason other than you breaking these terms, we refund you in full.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your sprint is the one in place on the day you paid. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
